FHE...a night early
So we've been having Family Home Evening on Sunday night because by the time Dan gets home on Monday and we eat and everything, then it's late and Allison has a harder time and then it's past bedtime...anyway, one thing (besides doing FHE on Sunday) that has totally worked to keep Allison's attention for FHE (it's not too hard now because she currently LOVES FHE) but anyway, we all sit in a circle on the floor. When we were sitting on the couch she'd be bouncing around and had a harder time paying attention. Just thought I'd share what works for us--try it! Hope it helps.

We're goin' to Disneyland!
Actually, we already went. Dan took a couple days off of work mid week last week and we took the kids to Disneyland and California Adventure. The weather was perfect and we actually got to go on the big rides too...when the kids took naps, we got stroller passes and took turns going on all the bigger rides. Allison still has about 4 more inches to go before she can ride them and even though it wasn't quite as fun as going together on them, it was nice to get to ride them while we were there. The kids did great too and Cole took THE best naps in this new baby carrier that we bought called the Ergo Baby Carrier.

We visited some characters for the first time--Allison has always been afraid...until now...it took a little while to get her used to them but after seeing Cole touch Tigger's nose, I think she felt like they weren't so scarey.

Is this not the cutest thing!? This was the last princess of the day that we saw and she just looks like she is looking up to this beautiful Ariel in awe :)

Allison's FAVORITE rides are Dumbo and the carousel---which I swear we rode like 7 times over 2 days--between the regular one and the King Triton sea creatures one at California Adventure.

We then stayed in the Paradise Pier hotel...which was kinda lame and totally not worth the money but it was convenient to run home afterwards and I've learned my lesson...I guess we were just trying to have a fun vacation so we splurged---next time we'll stay in Days Inn or something on the outskirts of the park. Allison loved staying in her own queen bed though....but man, she gets up so much at night talking in her sleep or more like moaning in her sleep so I kept jumping out of bed and then Cole got up at like 4:30 in the morning to eat. It was quite the experience.

Here are some other pictures from our trip!

Cole was just staring during the parade...he couldn't get enough of all the action going on.

As we neared the end of our second day, we left California Adventureland to go on two rides at Disneyland that she wanted to go on-again--Dumbo of course, and then Buzz Lightyear.... but on the long way over, she gave in to the sleep that was calling her name. Here's Dan asking if she still wants to go on the rides...she can't even keep her eyes open let alone answer him. We wore her out for sure! She even slept through Cole SCREAMING on the way home from over-exhaustion.

They won!
Dan and I went to our first winning Padres game this season! Unfortunately, Dan hasn't been able to really go to too many games this season--but at least someone has been able to take advantage of his abundance of free tickets (Hope they were fun Matt & Chels) Anyway, we brought Cole with us who did awesome with all the noise---especially from my incredibly animated husband and the Dixons joined us too. It was an exciting game and best of all we actually won!
