More Utah...

We got to visit GG's (that's Great Grandma) and see her new assisted living place. It feels really homey. She is one of the healthiest and most mobile ladies there. She has a great friend that she's known that lives below her one floor and she's got her walls covered with pictures of her kids, grandkids, and the greats. We loved seeing her. We miss having her close by!
My parents were vacationing and decided they'd done enough driving so instead of making their way from Idaho to Colorado, they made a stop in Utah and then drove home. We had a fun time Sunday looking at the beautiful pictures of their trip!

4th Of July

So Allison and I were matching really cute but of course I never got a picture of us. She was in PJ's during picture time. We saw fireworks at our house on the 30th and she couldn't watch something sitting down for that long so she went to bed before the 10pm fire works in Utah.

Drive to Utah

Our one and only vacation this summer was to Utah. We decided to split the trip into two days for the witto one. We left after Dan got home from work on Monday. Cole did pretty good except after our midway stop on the way to Vegas, he was sooo tired that he got ticked in his carseat and cried or I should say, screamed for a while until he wore himself out and conked. Then we stayed at this posh Marriot hotel that Dan got a great deal on through a co-worker and when we finally got in our room to get settled, I realized I left the blanket in the car that I swaddle Cole in. So we used the snazzy blanket from the foot of the bed and Cole slept in style. I had set up a little sleeping area for Allison on the floor. I put the two chair cushions on the floor and put her sleeping bag on top of it. Dan decided she would sleep well on it so he took that instead. I couldn't believe it. The bed was real comfy....except when you're sleeping on it with a 2-yr old. I could feel her sit up probably 9 times in the night and most times she was sleeping perpendicular to me so I had a head or some other appendage in my side. Plus I only had one tiny pillow and I usually sleep with two. So none of us got great sleep sadly. But the shower the next morning was the best shower EVER. It had one of those faucets above the head that feels like rain pouring down on you. It was great. And the bathroom had a HUGE jacuzzi tub in it that we didn't use.

Del Mar Fair

Dan and I made it back to the Del Mar Fair after missing it last year. This year it was fun to watch Allison take everything in. First, we hit the petting zoo. Allison was freaked out as we walked by the cows on the way. They were just laying there and she still had a kung-fu grip on me. So Dan just held her near the animals for a picture. Then we met James and Leah for the all too famous pig races. Those are fun. Allison got a kick out of them. We ate some lunch and a funnel cake which is a must have at the fair, and after too much food and sick stomachs, we had to take a ride on the carousel and then Dan took her on some elephant ride like Dumbo. Last, we let Allison ride this swing ride which she suckered us into riding like 3 times. She was sooo sad when we had to take her off of it. It was a fun day...long, but fun.
